I have a backup copy of all the repos from http://petsc.cs.iit.edu/petsc now at (mcs):

~petsc/petsc.cs.iit.edu-hg-petsc-backup

metis is at: ~petsc/petsc.cs.iit.edu-hg-petsc-backup/externalpackages/metis-5.0.2
