[petsc-dev] [petsc-maint #40363] Dense matrices

   Send (or point to) an example that generates the wrong answer and  
we'll try to reproduce it. My guess is your version of BLAS is buggy.  
What happens if you write a code that just uses the BLAS (not PETSc)?
