What kind of post-processing are you trying to do?
Usually it is best to do the post-processing within Nek itself in userchk, and then output the data in logfile that you can later plot. The advantage of this is that you will have access to high-order tools such as findpts etc… which are already tested and scale well (this will also help you in future if you move to bigger meshes).
For visual post-processing, we have tools like Visit and postnek which can read Nek’s field files (*f000) and give you a variety of options for slicing and plotting different quantities.
