Another way to link Nek5000 with other libraries, is through makenek directly by specifying appropriate USR_LFLAGS

If I need to modify the makefile, I usually run makenek once
to have it generate the appropriate makefile, then edit it
(say, to add the library links).
Make certain you make a copy of your edited makefile or it
will be overwritten by a future "makenek" execution.
This is one way... but there are probably some better ones.
If you just want to add routines from the library you can
include them directly into your .usr file and call them from
there.
