Ahh, claiming and doing other things with tickets does require some special permissions.  I thought you just wanted to create tickets.  I have now added you to the mpich2-collab group in trac, which should allow you to modify tickets to a greater extent than you previously could.  If there is still some operation that you wish to perform and cannot, let me know directly and we'll sort it out.
