[MPICH2-dev] new MPICH2 development snapshot

A new development snapshot of MPICH2 is located at
ftp://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/mpi/mpich2/mpich2-devsnapshot.tar.gz.  As the name
suggests, this is a tarball of our development tree, not an official
release.  A large portion of the MPI-1 standard has been implemented, as
have a few of the of MPI-2 routines; however, the implementation is
incomplete and quite likely contains a few bugs.  If you encounter any
problems or have any questions, please let us know.  Instructions on how to
build MPICH2 are located in the README file, the contents of which I have
attached to this message.

We have created a new mailing list for the purposes of announcing future
snapshot releases and openly discussing topics concerning MPICH2
development.  To subscribe to this list, send mail to majordomo at mcs.anl.gov
with a message body of "subscribe mpich2-dev <your-email-address>".

We have begun running regular tests of the MPI-1 functions.  We are using
both the MPICH-1 test suite and the Intel test suite (with corrections).
The current status is available at
