It's a clang (this particular version; worked on the previous one)
issue. See https://trac.macports.org/ticket/36654#comment:9

You should be able to install 'sudo port install mpich2 +clang31'
(this will install MacPorts's clang) or mpich2 +llvm, or +gcc4[34567].

I'll get it blacklisted (so it won't try clang) in the Portfile soon,
but not tonight.
