Hi,
Just press enter (without entering anything) when "mpiexec -register" prompts for username (It should take "WASHINGT-4415E5\Hongbing Noah Jiang" as your username then) and enter the password for "WASHINGT-4415E5\Hongbing Noah Jiang". You can try "mpiexec -validate" to make sure the username/password combination works.

Regards,
Jayesh

Hi Jayesh,

Thank you very much for your help. I registered before. And I tried the way
you told me. What could be the domain if I only want to run on my computer?
It displayed as "mpiexec -register
Account <domain\user> [WASHINGT-4415E5\Hongbing Noah Jiang]"
Hongbing Noah Jiang is the user name I registered, which is one
administrator user account on my computer. I think I should configure the
right domain name. This is why it can not connect to washingt-4415e5.

I appreciate if you could help figure out this problem.

Best,
Hongbing

Hi,
Make sure that you register a valid Windows username/password with mpiexec
(Type "mpiexec -register" at the command prompt to register
username/password).

Jayesh

Hi Jayesh,

I tried. The sample problem occurred and it displayed as " Credentials for
Hongbing Noah Jiang rejected connecting to washingt-4415e5
Aborting: Unable to connect to washingt-4415e5 "

Best,
Hongbing

Hi,
Can you run your job from the command prompt (mpiexec -n 2
c:\Progra~1\MPICH2\examples\cpi.exe)?

Jayesh

Hi Jayesh,

Thank you very much for your reply. I really appreciate. Actually, I was
running it on Windows XP with the wmpiexec.exe. I want to run it on my own
computer, however, the program automatically connected to washingt-4415e5. I
am trying to configure it, but failed.

I enclosed the console that I found problem. Could you please help me figure
out?

Best,
Hongbing

Hi,
The error message shows that the credentials (username/password) registered
with mpiexec is not valid on washingt-4415e5 .
Make sure that you have the same username/password on all the machines used
for the job.

Regards,
Jayesh
