1.  affinity syntax (Guanhua Zhang)

Hi Guanhua,
                  you can specifically bind a process to desired cpu by
using the following syntax
                    mpiexec -np 2 -binding cpu:sockets ./your_obj_code

                    and yes do use the latest version of mpich cuz there
seems to be some bugs regarding the same in older versions
