[mpich-discuss] SMPD passphrase?

Hi,
Check to see if the smpd daemon (Assuming you installed MPICH2 from Cygwin and started smpd using "smpd -s" ) is running on the machine (Windows task manager). Also try disabling the Windows firewall.
 Let us know the results.

(PS: The inputs from user vvvnew pertain to MPICH2 installation on Windows - using the Windows installers for MPICH2.)
Regards,
Jayesh

I actually open a Cygwin terminal and do all my work in the emulated Linux environment. Would that make things different? Thank you, Sreenivas.

Iam not sure. What i would try first is log in to dos prompt as admin and type smpd - install. This would reboot smpd in windows service mode. Try this and see if you get a similar error message.
