> If upgrading the OS is too difficult, you could install a newer version of MPICH2 from source instead.  It's not too difficult, although you probably won't be able to use any of the other packages in the OS distribution that depend on MPICH2, if that matters to you.

Thanks for your suggestion! I Installed the latest version of mpich2 for 
natty and it worked!!
