[mpich-discuss] MPI_comm_spawn error

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm writing a program using MPICH2 that spawns some child using the 
/MPI_comm_spawn/ command to be able to maintain the father-child 
communication during all the execution. If I run the program using the 
mpiexec or mpirun commands it works perfect but if I run the program 
without this command I have the following error:

match_arg (./utils/args/args.c:122): unrecognized argument pmi_args
HYDU_parse_array (./utils/args/args.c:140): argument matching returned error
parse_args (./ui/mpich/utils.c:1387): error parsing input array
HYD_uii_mpx_get_parameters (./ui/mpich/utils.c:1438): unable to parse 
user arguments/

Could you explain me which are the main difference between using the 
mpiexec command to run the program an not using it?
