Hi,
Glad you could figure out the problem. Let us know if you need further help.
(PS: All nodes of your cluster should have the same version of MPICH2 installed on them.)
Regards,
Jayesh

Hi,
The SMPD process manager does not setup a ring like mpd. So there is no need (way) to setup a ring with SMPD (the only process manager supported on windows - for now).
Did you try turning off any firewall running on the machines ? Can you try running "smpd -status MACHINE2_NAME" from a command prompt MACHINE1 (MACHINE1 - Where you run wmpiconfigure) ?
Meanwhile, note that you cannot run MPI jobs across 32-bit and 64-bit windows machines with MPICH2.
Regards,
Jayesh

I'm trying to set up on Native Windows 7, x64. I've got the 1.2.1p1 x64 version installed in Program Files, and because I was trying to use WMPIREGISTER and WMPICONFIG to make life easier, I have 1.2.1p1 (IA32) installed in Program Files (x86) so I can use those two utilities. Can the Win32 utilities see the x64 smpd running on the other hosts? I'm beginning to think perhaps not. What happens when I run WMPICONFIGURE is that it says it can never see a host with smpd running, but there are. It's either that or I've got some kind of software configuration issue, because I can see and transfer files and share folders between the boxes, but I can't get the "hosts" and the list of hosts to acknowledge they can see each other. It just times out. Just looking for ideas to help debug, and I've kind of gone dry on ideas of what to try next to narrow down the problem.
