Hi,
MPICH2 on windows uses SMPD as its process manager. Hydra is not available on windows as of now. It is in our todo list and should be available in couple of months.

Regards,
Jayesh

Subject: [mpich-discuss] Hydra vs. SMPD for cross-OS

Hi,

I'm looking at adding a Windows x86_64 node to an existing Linux-based x86 cluster (x86_64 head node and x86 worker nodes). Right now we're using MPD. Does the current Windows compile of 1.3 use Hydra or SMPD? If Hydra isn't implemented yet, is it ready for use and just not thoroughly tested yet, or is it not even available? The last time I did a Windows/Linux cluster was with MPICH2 1.0.x so I'm interested to hear what's changed.

Thanks,
-Matt
