[mpich-discuss] Starting SMPD in debug mode from boot up.

Hi,
You can disable the SMPD Service (Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services -> right-click on "MPICH2 process manager" -> Select startup type as "Manual") from the Control Panel so that it does not startup automatically during bootup. Now you can add "smpd.exe" in your list of startup programs with appropriate parameters (Start -> Run -> Type "msconfig" & Enter -> Specify smpd.exe in the list of startup programs).
 Hope it helps.

(PS: If you have GUI elements only on the local processes you can start your job with the "-localroot" option. i.e., mpiexec -localroot -n 2 -machinefile mf.txt MYMPIPGM_WITH_GUI.exe)
Regards,
Jayesh

Subject: [mpich-discuss] Starting SMPD in debug mode from boot up.

My code has graphical elements on each process so I presently need to
stop the SMPD service and restart in a cmd with SMPD -d 0 on each node
(Windows XP).

Is there a method to start the SMPD in debug mode (-d 0) upon boot up.

TIA

Angus
