Would it be practicable or perhaps even better to do this by building a local RPMForge repository from a Fedora connected Fedora RPMForge repository?

I have a CentOS 5.4 cluster.  For reasons that are too complicated to explain here, it does not and will not have an internet connection anytime in the near term.  I want to get my MPICH app up and running on it, and I need to set up an infrastructure to build MPI ans well as the app and other stuff.  So I'd like to build up a Yum repository and then copy it over on DVD.  I want to put MPI, Subversion, Eclipse, gcc, ICC (I have that, it's not free), Samba, Apache, Python on there to support MPI, the app, and so forth, and build all of the above.

I have a Fedora 12 system, it also has Yum, and it IS connected to the internet.  So, as you can see, my grand plan I'm hoping is to request the Centos rpms to be downloaded to my Fedora system, and then copy them over to the Centos.  So, will it be just that easy.  I guess I'm suspecting there will be or is a catch that I need to be aware of.  Will Yum put the Centos rpms into a different, "Centos repo" independent of Fedora repo for example?

And just as aside, if you read my list of stuff I'm loading and are thinking, "he'll need xxx", let me know if you think there's any obvious omissions in my list that I'll hit.  I hate to have to do the "land mine" approach to finding stuff I'm missing.
