[mpich-discuss] Make error: No module named distutils.core

Hi all,

I seem to be having some issues setting up mpich2 on our cluster. It is 
apparently unable to find python's distutils while making src/slog2sdk:

Traceback (most recent call last):
 File "./mtv_setup.py", line 7, in ?
   from distutils.core import setup, Extension
ImportError: No module named distutils.core

which is located:  /usr/lib/python2.4/distutils/core.py

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated- please see m.txt 
and c.txt attached.
