Hi,
 Can you try running the mpiexec command from an administrator prompt (right-click on command prompt and select "Run as administrator") and see if it works ?
 If not, uninstall MPICH2 on your machine. Open an administrator prompt (as mentioned above), run "msiexec /i mpich2-1.3a1-win-ia32.msi" to install MPICH2 on your machine. Let us know if it works.

Regards,
Jayesh

Subject: [mpich-discuss] Windows 7 Install problem- mpiexec errors

Folks;

Following what looked like a good MPICH2 install on Windows 7 and
starting the daemon with
   :smpd -install" successfully, I found that running mpiexec with
any argument, such as :
   "mpiexec  -help2"
  gave the error message:

  Fatal error in MPI_Init: Other MPI error, error stack:
MPIR_Init_thread(394)........: Initialization failed
MPID_Init(135)...............: channel initialization failed
MPIDI_CH3_Init(35)...........:
MPIDI_CH3I_Progress_init(309):
MPIDU_Sock_listen(940).......: listen failed, An attempt was made to
access a socket in a way
  forbidden by its access permissions. (errno 10013)

This happened with the distribution: mpich2-1.3a1-win-ia32.msi
I did the install as an Administrator.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Rich
