[mpich-discuss] Using Different Versions of MPICH2

Can different versions of MPICH2 (e.g., 2-1.0.8 on one PC and 2-1.0.7 on
another PC) when establishing a computing ring?

I have this situation and am experiencing the following error when trying to
start the ring using mpdboot. I believe it may be that MPICH2 is looking for
the mpd.py file on the Xeon host but cannot find it since it the Xeon host
has MPICH 2-1.0.7 installed in the directory
/opt/mpich2-1.0.7/mpich2-1.0.7-install and the Precision host has MPICH
2-1.0.8 installed in the directory /opt/mpich2-1.0.8/mpich2-1.0.8-install.

Am I correct in that one cannot mix MPICH versions?

Thanks,

Paul
