[MPICH] mpich2-1.0.5, ch3:ssm, pathscale on opteron

Dear all,

I'm setting up an opteron cluster and I'm having problems with the 
communication device ch3:ssm.
If I force a job to have only one process per node it runs smoothly but 
with more than one it simply
grinds to a halt.

According to the manual this communication device is not guaranteed to 
work for everybody so I just
wanted to know if someone has managed to get it going, and what needs to 
be done in this case,
with mpich2-1.0.5 with pathscale:
