[MPICH] configure broken in 1.0.5p4

After unpackage mpich2-1.0.5p4.tar.gz, I tried to configure
the software with the following command line.

./configure --with-device=ch3:nemesis --prefix=/usr/local --enable-fast

shich eventually dies with

RUNNING SETUP_DEVICE FOR THE CH3 DEVICE
sourcing /usr/tmp/mpich2-1.0.5p4/src/mpid/ch3/channels/nemesis/setup_channel
RUNNING SETUP_CHANNEL FOR THE NEMESIS CHANNEL
eval: 1: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")
