[MPICH] C++ bindings for MPI

I apologise for the newbie type question but searching the web just
confused me further.

I want to use the C++ bindings for the MPICH library. However, I could
not find a tutorial and it seems that there are some differences
between MPICH-2 and MPICH-2. There is mpi++.h and mpicxx.h

I would like to be able to run this application in a heterogeneous
environment using the globus2 device. And this would only be possible
with MPICH-1.2.x (afaik).

I did try oompi [1] but though in theory it has everything -- streams
interfaces to MPI ports and so on -- I'm having some practical
difficulties working with it. Right now I'm reading the source to see
how to construct a user-defined datatype and that is a bit too much
effort for me.

Any pointers would be most welcome.

TIA.
