[MPICH] Topology of intercommunicators

Hi,
    I have read about topology in MPI>
    Is there any way to define topology of intercommunicators in MPI?
    I need topology of processes within an intra communicator and also for inter communicators. Any way to do that?
    
    Any documents or web references ?
