Yiqi,

The variable - NC_MAX_DIMS:
is the maximum number of dimensions that can be used to specify the shape of a single variable.

Why do you have that many datasets? 
Recompiling netCDF with increased NC_MAX_DIMS might solve your problem.If you point us to the file on MCS network, we can take a look.

Hi Vijay and Rajeev,
I tried to convert a .exo file to h5m file with mbconvert. It give me the following error.Do you have any idea?
