Thank you to Tim and Carl for leading the discussion.  I haven't had time to
think about all the comments, but I'd like to eliminate one area of concern
immediately.

On June 5, we voted unanimously to remove these functions.  They will not
appear in the next draft you receive, but they were still in the 5/27
version because we had not yet voted.
