Hey florin all I can think is that maybe a "hostlist" or some other
file is sneaking into your environment and you are secretly running on
some other machine(s)?

Do a 'mpiexec -np 16 uname -a' or a 'mpiexec -np 16
ls -ld /sandbox/darshan_logs/2013/12/16/' to double check.
