      It sounds like the login node you're using doesn't support AVX512. When you configure/build the darshan-util code, don't use the '-xCORE_AVX512' flag. This will enable darshan-parser and associated utilities to run on the front-end node. You could also build darshan-util with gcc instead of icc as well if that is easier.

    I’ profiling a MPI/OPENMP fortran code in  INTEL Skylake arch. Using darshan 3.3.1 to analyse IO with HDF5 subroutines.
    
    I used the env variable LD_PRELOAD and I get the darshan file as output.
    
    My problem is to do a report of that file using the perl script darshan-job-summary.pl.
    
    /marconi/home/userexternal/fiannone/apps.cori-skl/darshan-3.1.3/bin/darshan-job-summary.pl gysela.darshan --output case1_384.pdf
    
    Please verify that both the operating system and the processor support Intel(R) AVX512DQ, AVX512F, AVX512CD, AVX512BW, AVX512VL and CLWB instructions.
    
    darshan-parser failure:  256 at /marconi/home/userexternal/fiannone/apps.cori-skl/darshan-3.1.3/bin/darshan-job-summary.pl line 355
    
    I have a failure in the script as above.
    
    I built my code with Intel/IMPI 2018 with the following flags:
    
    -g -xCORE-AVX512 -qopenmp -mkl -fPIC
