Everyone, I'm to blame :)

I ran a scripted benchmark (I didn't write it) that wasn't intended
for the system. The system didn't crash but was only unresponsive so
that the mpdallexit wasn't being scheduled.

BTW, changing by login shell to bash with chsh is not persistent. Any advice?
