Jason,

What needs to be done before upgrading to the new 3.2 build? Do the old AG software and services need to be uninstalled or can this be run over-top of previous versions?

Subject: [AG-TECH] Announcing the release of an updated version of the Access Grid "All-In-One-Installer" for windows

Colleagues

It is with great pleasure that we announce the release of the latest Access Grid "All-In-One-Installer" for windows, which can be downloaded from http://www.accessgrid.org/software. This version of the bundle installer, v3_2, mainly contains a bug fix. This version was released on the 1st of February 2011!

This bundle release includes the following improvements:

* Regression bug fix for HD node services and VIC's Blackmagic grabber.

This version of the bundle also includes the HD node services and other previous updates which included:

*         BlackMagic Card support;

*         Improved x264 performance which includes multi-threaded support;

*         Native Windows GUI;

*         DV camera support for VIC's DirectShow grabber;

* The Shared Application (Shared Paint)

*         VIC updated to provide capture resolution selection for "Large" size;

*         VIC has configurable properties dialog box to set features such as brightness, focus, 50/60Hz anti-flicker, etc;

*         Updated VPCSCreen release - which can now transmit from multiple screen;

I wish to thank all those who worked on making this release happen (Thomas Uram, Doug Kosovic and Nathan Gardiner) and I hope you enjoy the improvements and extra functionality.

NOTE: Those wanting to view the newer codec's video streams, you will need to remove the standard "video node services" and add the equivalent HD node services (even if you are transmitting H261, you will need to use the HD services to view the new high quality video streams others may be transmitting).

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reply to this mailing list.

Thanks for your time,

Jason.

PS: Windows 7 support is not supported by AG 3.2, but in our testing it has worked fine after applying the fix described in http://www.accessgrid.org/node/1976.
