[AG-TECH] use of polycom with AG

I have used one here with the interconnect box. It is satisfactory
but not great. The echo cancel is fine, but the audio itself is pretty much
telephone/speakerphone grade. For the money, I prefer the Clearone Accumic
PC if you don't need to do telephone audio conference support in the same
room.

Julie,

We often use the Polycom SoundStation in AG PIGs. One caveat is you
need to purchase their Video Interconnect box to connect the sound
station to your sound card. There also seems to be an impedance
mismatch which requires that you keep your inpout levels very low,
almost off. Also, for the price I personally don't think the audio
quality is very good. Polycom's audio seems to be tuned for use over
the phone which is much lower quality audio than the capabilities of AG.
