[AG-TECH] TypeError: strip() takes no arguments (1 given)

Hi, I am new to linux.Using Redhat 8.0

I, installed the rpm packages (and learning how to do that on the fly) and
I am just trying to run the venueclient, and I get this error:

TypeError: strip() takes no arguments (1 given)


The first thing that comes to my mind is whether this is some problem with
python version number; the webpage says it has to be python2.2 but I have
installed python2.2.1. But that could only come from the rpm package from
the ag-site. So there must be something else wrong. Can anyone explain
this, in layman terms, preferably :)
