Hi all,

The deadline for registering as an SC Global Satellite Site is less than two weeks away; your
early registration will be helpful to us in our planning process. :-) Also, we could still use
an experienced volunteer or two to help lead some test cruises. Please see below for a
(slightly revised) re-run of an earlier email on these topics. Your responses are very much
appreciated!

SC Global has a very exciting and diverse program, and will be an excellent opportunity to
give your local community free access to high-quality content, as well as helping them see the
power of collaborative environments including (but not necessarily limited to) the AG.

Cheers,
Jennifer

Colleagues and friends,

SC Global is now less than 11 weeks away! So, it's now time for Satellite Sites to register.
I'd love to see all AG nodes worldwide register as Satellite Sites -- we're setting up a
robust infrastructure, and would like to make the best possible use of it.

Satellite Sites are AG locations which participate in an interactive, multimedia way. For
example, the people attending at Satellite Sites can ask questions through AG audio and video
channels during Panels, and participate in Birds of a Feather session discussions.
Here are the steps to take to be a Satellite Site:

1) Register by September 15 at:

    http://www.fz-juelich.de/scglobal/scg03/sat.html

2) Participate in one of the "certification session" test cruises, held between September 15
and October 15. Don't let the term "certification" scare you -- these sessions are just to
ensure that your network, audio, video, and related software all all up to speed, and that
you're ready to participate in November. If everything works great the first time, you're done
with required test cruises until November rolls around.

3) Participate in other test sessions and rehearsals as desired. We will hold some number of
large-scale test cruises, and your participation will be encouraged but not required.

4) Participate in final test cruises the Friday and Monday right before SC Global. (SC Global
runs November 18 - 20, 2003.)

I'd also like to make a special request of those of you who are experienced AG users, and
might have experienced one or more other big AG events. Martin Sczimarowsk, SC Global's Remote
Sites Manager, needs volunteers to help run the test cruises for the Satellite Sites in
September and October. If you can help, please drop him a note at m.sczimarowsky at fz-juelich.de
. Your help will be very much appreciated!
