Tom,

Thanks, you were right on the money. I had created an account on the linux
boxes for myself as the new AG operator but forgot to give permissions to
both the audio and video devices.

The problem is probably that the video devices on your linux box are 
either in use, or you don't have permissions to access them.  If either 
of those is true, vic will default to transmitting X11 screen captures.

This is a common problem when one person logs in to the console, and 
another person tries to run the AG software, because the devices will be 
owned by the first person and closed to everyone else.
