[AG-TECH] Switching AG software versions

hi -

at ivan's "AG 2.0 Toolkit" seminar yesterday i raised the question about
maintaining multiple versions of the AG software on a node and easily,
and rapidly, switching between them.  thinking some more about this, it
occurred to peter and i that what we need is a single command at the
display machine that will shutdown all AG services running at the node.

question is...

1. does AG 1.0 have a single point of shut-down?  will killing the
"event server monitor" terminate all the processes?  i tried it and it
didn't appear to do it.

2. does the AG 2.0 service model have some notion of listing current
services and doing management on them?
