We've found with some of the mics the meaning of the light is unclear -
does red mean on, or does red mean mute (like some conference phones).

Does hte button mute the mic locally? The gentner manual or website talk
about a setup where the mute button actually toggles the mute on the
gentner itself, and the led is attached to the gentner mute status. That
way the gentner EC hardware can continue to listen to the mic and adapt to
the local audio environment, so that there's not a hitch in cancellation
when the mic is reenabled.
