[AG-TECH] Customizing the Video Capture PC

I'm in the process of trying to install video drivers, etc. onto my video
capture machine. I've hit a few snags, which I started trying to sort out
myself, but they became so many I wondered if I was doing it all wrong...

Please could someone tell me whether I'm doing the right thing (in which
case tweaks are needed) or the wrong thing (in which case, what should I be
doing?). My guess is that there is a different installation for the drivers
now and this has been superceded.

(By the way, I think I do need to do something with drivers as my picture
quality from my camera is not good.)

I am following instructions in

They tell me to run the script customize (downloaded from
http://www.mcs.anl.gov/fl/accessgrid/softdownload.htm).

This script has the following "errors":

1. Line 148 that begins "lynx -source..." tries to download
http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/~olson/AG/Software/Linux/bttv-0.6.4-$kernel.tar.
gz, but the file "bttv-0.6.4-2.2.16-3.tar.gz" does not exist at that
location. I changed this to have an "h" so that it downloaded
bttv-0.6.4h-2.2.16-3.tar.gz which does exist.

2. Line 159 that reads "cd bttv/driver" fails. I changed this to read "cd
bttv-0.6.4h-2.2.16-3".

3. When the script is run with these changes, I get the following output (to
start with!):
