The network folks believe that the IP multicast is now working between the
Boston, NCSA, and Argonne Access Grid nodes over the vBNS.

Feedback on this belief would be greatly appreciated. ag-tech at mcs.anl.gov
is the appropriate email address for such reports, now that at least two
network folk from Argonne are watching its traffic.

Many thanks to networking people Linda Winkler of Argonne, Charles
vonLichtenberg of Boston, the whole NetDev group at NCSA (including Tony
Rimovsky and Patrick Dorn), and Kevin Thompson of vBNS. All of these
people had to work together to get IP multicast to this point.

We're bringing other networking people from the Southern Crossroads (SoX)
GigaPOP, Kentucky, and New Mexico up to speed on the whats and whyfores.
Next in our sights is Kentucky, as we believe SoX is also IP multicast
capable. Our hope is to get started testing IP multicast service to New
Mexico in the next week or so.

(See, I can write a piece of email without ranting about keeping your
clients running all the time!)
