I'm pretty sure that using the http://www.accessgrid.org/registry/peers.txt
  as the registryUrl will work if you start a bridge now, since the DNS pointer for www.accessgrid.org has been changed to the new site and the new site's registry/peers.txt contains the correct address of the registry itself.

Long running bridges started with the same registryUrl but before the DNS redirection are registered with the old registry and therefore don't appear after a purge in the VenueClient. Restarting those bridges should make them visible again after VenueCLient purges.
