Notes from Asia-Pacific townhall last week

I decided that these notes would be worthwhile to share:

Markus Buchhorn of Australian National Univ had the following updates on 
his work.  He (and two of his developers) and Chris Willing were the 
only attendees, so it's not clear how public he wants to be with these 
details.  Hold them close to your coat.  ;-)

- They are about to release a new version of their video display app ( 
http://if.anu.edu.au/SW/VP.html ), including:
    - a Mac version
    - additional layout capabilities (e.g., grid layout of streams from 
one site)
    - a python interpreter embedded, so users can "log in" and script 
it, for window placement, etc.

- They'll be developing a video capture application to replace vic for 
transmission.  The development will happen first on the Mac, and be 
ported to other platforms thereafter.
