[petsc-users] "Could not find a suitable archiver. Use --with-arto specify an archiver"

I could not do all things you posted below. I get these:

This is a strange error.

What do you get when you do the following:

balay at jpro^~/petsc/src/benchmarks(maint-3.8) $ ls -l sizeof.o
