Hi Jean-Christophe,
This examples forces Nek5000 to output into the file blah.sch a time trace (H) of pressure (P), x & y velocity components (UV) for a point located in the element w/ global number IEL and collocation coordinates I,J K.
Use 'grep History logfile' to get coordinates of the points.
Aleks

Subject: [Nek5000-users] History points
Hello Nek's,
I have a few questions on how to use the history points.
I have seen on the wiki the following stuff:
History points
Specify grid points to monitor the specified variables in time. Example: ***** HISTORY AND INTEGRAL DATA *****
1 POINTS. Var, Hcode, I, J, K, IEL
UV P H 2 2 1 4
NOTE:
• Make sure LHIS in SIZEu is large enough
I bet Var stands for variable, but what do Hcode, I, J, K, and IEL stand for ?
Once you have specified the location of your history point, let's say a point on the centerline of a stenotic flow at whatever streamwise station, how do you get the data concerning this history point? Do you have to change anything else in the output specification section ? I have tried to add the wiki lines up there directly in my blah.rea but once I ran the code I did not get any new files other than the expected blah.fld's.
Regards,
Jean-Christophe
