This does not help AT ALL. How is it bad? I use it all the time just fine, so I was not changing it unless there were complaints.</blockquote></div><br><div>If you can just update your scripts to only support petsc-dev, then no big deal. But if you have a project that wants to support several versions of PETSc, you would need to maintain multiple versions every time an API changes. BuildSystem does not have a stable API: try building today's petsc-dev using BuildSystem from last year or building last year's petsc using today's BuildSystem.</div>
