[petsc-dev] Are we dispensing with the silliness of releases?

I need to merge a branch that fixes PCFieldSplit's Schur preconditioner
assembly -- it has been cooking in 'next' for a while now.  Plus some
changes to the manual on how to use the new options.  I can do it this week.
