[petsc-dev] making tarball of knepley/pylith branch

Satish,

Thanks for the info. We need a tarball only a few times a year, so I 
think it will be easiest if I just customize the builddist script for 
our needs. This way I can run configure without matlab, etc. I already 
fixed the conversion from knepley/pylith to knepley-pylith.
