Can't recall if I followed up on this in the last few days before
the festive season, but there was an issue with OpenMPI upon the
NetBSD platform.

We came up with a temporary workaround - basically, a different route
through the network interface evaluation code - and have since seen
the target application running, albeit not as well as we expected.
That's another issue though, a thread realting to which I'll be
starting soon!
