Error in MPI_File_open

Okay I get this error :

MPI_File_open: MPI_ERR_OTHER: known error not in list
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MPI_ABORT was invoked on rank 0 in communicator MPI_COMM_WORLD
with errorcode 1.

NOTE: invoking MPI_ABORT causes Open MPI to kill all MPI processes.
You may or may not see output from other processes, depending on
exactly when Open MPI kills them.

So, does this mean there is an older version of openmpi ?The version on the
cluster is Open MPI 1.5.4.
