pnetcdf-1.1.1pre1 pre-release testing

Hello Parallel-NetCDF community

We are a bit overdue for a bugfix release to catch some of the issues
users found with 1.1.0.  However, in all the fixing I ended up
changing a few more lines of code than I initially thought I would.  

I've tagged a 1.1.1pre1 pre-release in SVN.  I'd appreciate it if we
could get a few folks to try it out before I make it a "final".  

I know we have in the past gone many months between "pre" and "final"
but this time I'm determined to release a final 1.1.1 in a matter of
days.
