Sorry - I now see your question..

The only thing I know of is to add the following to userchk:

       if (istep.eq.0) call outpost(vx,vy,vz,pr,t,'   ')


You need something slightly different if you have multiple
passive scalars.  (you need output2() ... check the source
for syntax.)
