hey guys,<br><br>i have something i wish u help me on.<br><br>when i try to set a port range number to my mpd by setting the environment variable in the .bash file<br>using MPICH_PORT_RANGE= 8000:9000<br><br>when i type the command<br>>>mpd -e <br>i get an output like this<br>>>mpd_port=8000<br>which is correct.<br><br>then the mpd should choose a port number within this range.<br>but things go around like this:<br><br>>>mpd &<br>>>[1] 6045<br>which is obviously wrong.<br><br>what is annoying me is that this method works with other people.<br>i want to know why its not working with me.<br>if any one knows what i have done wrong plz reply.<br><br>thanks<br>hatem <br> </body>
