<DIV> </DIV>Just guessing, but perhaps worth a shot while you wait for a more<BR>experienced answer:<BR><BR>Your config log shows a bunch of failed chmod attempts (`Operation not<BR>permitted'). Try to ensure a correct ./configure before attempting to<BR>run make. Rather than start by tweaking permissions, I'd retry from<BR>scratch somewhere else.<BR><BR>Since MPICH2 can be configured and built in user space, you don't need<BR>root for such a preliminary test: Just log on as a regular user,<BR>create a fresh subdir in your $HOME (or wherever you have unrestricted<BR>rights, enough space, and ideally a local, non-networked filesystem),<BR>unpack a fresh copy of the tarball there (as that user), cd into it<BR>and ./configure. If the permissions-related problems disappear (and<BR>they should), then run make. Any better?<BR></DIV></includetail></DIV>
